Last week, IRIS went to Seville to carry out the course of the fixed wing equipment of Novadrone NOUR. The course was held at Novadrone’s facilities in the Sevillian capital. The training was divided into two parts: theory (Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9) and practice (Wednesday 8). The theoretical part was hosted at Novadrone´s aeromodelling track in Utera). The IRIS pilots practiced the autonomous flight mode following a previously planned route (with Horizon software), and proved their flying expertise in manual mode. Although the craft is completely autonomous from takeoff to landing, the manual mode is essential to avoid possible accidents and damages to people or property.
