Beral/Cylteff in Zamora will do trials with the handheld laser

Tags :

Pedro Alonso from Beral Ingenierias and from grain producing company Cylteff will be experimenting with the handheld laser to control birds and rodent animals around and inside the grain storage. Pedro is happy to collaborate with Life project Laser Fence since he has experience with Life in the projects ‘Crops for Better Soil’ and ‘Operation CO2’.

Pedro hopes to report soon on his findings and he will fill in the usual log sheets of the projects. If the system works he might have to consider installing the Autonomic system in Cylteff. He expects that the traditional Agrilaser of BCG could do the job.

Volterra and Iris are visiting Fima in Zaragoza

Tags :

Santiago Martínez from Iris and Egbert Sonneveld from Volterra visited the largest agricultural show in Spain. The reason was to investigate if the participation to this type of fair would be interesting to promote the technology tested in Life Laser Fence in the future. Several farmers were very interested to do trials with the handheld laser on their land because the nuisance by rabbits, wild boar, deer and birds is enormous and the losses in product as well. On Fima there were several companies specialised in frightening away animals with noise, lights and moving items.

Egbert and Santiago also met the company Smart Rural specialised in UAV services as well but now promoting a tool called Tilea which is a GIS where all kind of data can be uploaded including ortophoto, NDVI biomass pictures and excel sheets with numbers. We were offered to try Tileo on different projects for a limited period of time. Soon a meeting will take place in Valladolid in the Smart Rural offices.

Manual laser test on the farm of EOLOARROZ

Tags :

The ANGEL CAMACHO team continues with the manual laser tests on the farms. After the rainy period, and once all the rice was collected at the farm of EOLOARROZ and the rest of the farms in the vicinity of DOÑANA, new tests were carried out with species of birds associated with this ecosystem and that still remain around the area at this time of the year (herons, gulls, ibis, storks, etc.). The goal was to check the reaction of these animals when they were targeted with the laser in a different scenario: flooded farms without the rice crop and under low temperatures (8-10ºC).
