Following the established schedule, in the month of July we have begun with the expansion of the areas where we currently working with the laser and we have started the trials in two more farms in the province of Cádiz, “El Chorreadero” in the municipality of San José del Valle, and “Torremesa” in Chipiona.
The cultivation of table grapes in the area of Rota, Chipiona and Sanlúcar has acquired great importance in recent years, and struggle against one of its greatest dangers such as small passerine birds is quiet important for us. The results obtained have been really encouraging, especially with sparrows, one of the most harmful small birds in the area. The objective of this extension is none other than to continue carrying out tests that demonstrate the positive reaction or not of the different animals to this system.
On January 15th, members of Volterra and IRIS met with Constantino Caminero Saldaña, head of the ITACyL Pest Area at their facilities in Valladolid, to present the work being done under LIFE Laser Fence. Constantino was very interested in the project and discussed the possibility of replicating Laser Fence in collaboration with ITACyL.
On January 12th, the members of Volterra met with Gonzalo Vidal de Vidar Soluciones Ambientales in Logroño to present the project Life Laser Fence. Gonzalo was very interested in the project and the possibilities offered by lasers to scare away animals from the crops in the possibility of replicating laser Fence in collaboration with Vidar.
